Although I'm very high on Carter Hart, I'm also very interested to see how Sandstrom does. Seems like he has the tools to be at least a serviceable backup in a few years.

I wonder if Werenski's agent is happy with the deal they signed?

Weresnki and his agent are probably very pleased with his deal, the way it's structured, with added PP time and him racking up points, he is in line with a big payday. Didn't do too bad in the meantime either.

I'm sure I'm being dramatic but man I would feel much better going into camp with TK and Provy locked up.

I'm sure TK and Provy both want to be here before camp starts. Just have to deal with the business side of things. Plus we have new coaches so I'm sure players want to dive in with the new system and/or style.

Completely agree. I hope there is something to the report that progress is being made on Provy, and hope TK gets done too.

Nothing worse than having these guys try to play catch up because they weren't signed until November.

I wouldn't call that being dramatic.

Just in the sense that this is sort of par for the course. Other teams have guys in limbo right now but by and large things will get done.

Dramatic in the sense that my growing fear of them missing camp is probably unfounded.

Will be interesting to see how he holds up under a heavier workload. He's gotta hit the ground running... Usti and Ersson are hot on his heels.

I think it's very founded. They're still both young players, and will have 3 new coaches to get used to. Miss camp, and they could very likely start off struggling this season which would not bode well for a rebound year for the team.

I’d happily sign Provy to the same deal as Werenski. I don’t think Provy is as good and certainly had a down year so it sure as heck shouldn’t be more. I like the bridge option for him...the truth is he could be as good as his first year for the rest of his career (which would be good but not crazy money good). I suspect he’ll be better but there is no crystal ball that says he will be.

Hard to compare both players out of context, tho.

Prov's ridden as the Flyers' #1 dman. Hardest minutes, hardest usage, etc.

I'm sure Gandler will make the point that the Jackets have Seth Jones to lean on and Werenski gets an easier time, so Prov is 'worth' more.

Anything Chris Stewart info ?

He signed a PTO with the Flyers. Last year he had 13 points in 23 games in the EIHL.

As a comparison, Former Flyer Jay Rosehill scored 17 points in 42 EIHL games during his final pro season in 17-18.

There is no one respectable that would argue Provy is better (right now).

Provy's number's though were down across the board from the previous year, as well as his underlying numbers. The Flyers could easily come back with that he struggled when given those hardest minutes. Or maybe not. Point is I guess anyone in the negotiating room can bring up whatever tactic they'd like to benefit each side. I just hope this gets done man.

Apparently Provy is in south jersey working out. Perhaps a deal will happen very soon

I think he's a pretty solid prospect. Could certainly get a look at the NHL level in a few years if he continues to progress.

Not sure the two necessarily have anything to do with each other. He could just as easily be an UFA and still work out until a team was interested.

I gotta think something gets hammered out in less than 2 weeks time.

Sanheim outscored Provorov by 30 ESP to 24 in 223 fewer ES minutes.

And outscored him 5 PPP to 2 in 43 fewer PP minutes.

Sanheim got 2 years at $3.25m.

Feel free to use these talking points in negotiations, Chuck.

Only mentioning it because first part of summer he was traveling, then he was training in Russia and I dont think he's been local for some time. And just yesterday/today his agent & co said they were closest to a contract than they've been in weeks.
